It took me much longer than I wanted to write this review because I feel like anything I could say about Éric and Merlo Negro would fall short. And although that may sound like a terrible excuse, the truth is that, of all the decisions we had to make for our wedding, this is the one we’re happiest we made. It’s something we remember with particular fondness from our wedding day.

From the very first time we spoke to Éric, we clicked with the way he is, communicates and works. His personality, empathy and joy make working with him incredibly easy, and when we finally met him on the wedding day, it felt like saying hello to an old friend.

Our wedding was in Portugal, with half our guests coming from Portugal and the other half from Spain, so we were a little worried about the music. We wanted to find something that would work for both audiences and make sure everyone had a great time. But Éric made it incredibly easy for us. He helped us every step of the way and somehow managed to make the whole process genuinely enjoyable — which, in the middle of planning a wedding, is not always easy!

At first, we were only looking for a DJ. But after watching videos of their live performances, it seemed like such a waste not to make the most of Éric’s talent, so in the end we booked him not only as our DJ for the party, but also Amorodous for the live performance — and it was absolutely the right call!

The live performance was so much fun, and they had everyone singing and dancing (including a few songs in Portuguese, hehe). And the DJ set and party were incredible too. Éric adapted perfectly to our tastes and preferences and absolutely nailed it.

The only thing I’m sad about is how quickly it all went by — I wish we could relive it and enjoy it all over again, hehe.

If you’re looking for a band and/or DJ to get your wedding or event going, don’t hesitate. Not only because they’re fantastic musicians (they really are, and then some), but especially because of their warmth, empathy and genuine care. They made both our wedding day and the whole planning process even more special.

When music turns spectacular moments into magic

From the very beginning, they were incredible — both professional and genuinely warm, and full of energy throughout the entire cocktail hour. Their repertoire was fantastic, really varied, and perfectly chosen to create exactly the atmosphere we were looking for.

We’d especially like to mention Éric, who went the extra mile and learned a song we specifically requested for our wedding day. It was such a lovely gesture that made that moment even more special, and it really showed how much care and dedication they put into what they do.

During and after the cocktail hour, we kept getting compliments from our guests about the band. Everyone was talking about how great they sounded, the atmosphere they created, and how much they enjoyed having them there.

Without a doubt, they were such an important part of our day, and we would choose them again in a heartbeat.

Thank you for making our cocktail hour even more special. You guys are amazing! 🎶❤️ We’ll always remember you.

If I could choose someone to provide the soundtrack to the special moments of my life, I’d choose Amorodous over and over again!

We saw them at a wedding and brought them all the way to Alicante because… why not? And off they came in their van, ready to give it everything!

They have such a wonderful energy. It was amazing. Absolute pros from start to finish — they asked about every little detail and really made an effort to get to know us, so everything felt like us: personal, unique, ours.

They played at the ceremony, the cocktail hour… and on top of that, they also hosted a musical bingo, a karaoke session and the party!

They made every moment memorable right until the very end. Everyone had an absolute blast and kept telling us how amazing the music was, how charismatic they were… I honestly think they fell in love with them too.

Pure magic!

Unforgettable

The performance was spectacular. From the very beginning, Éric was incredibly warm and approachable, always bringing ideas to the table.

Their repertoire is absolutely huge, with everything from old classics to brand-new releases, and they’re always open to playing songs outside their usual repertoire.

All our guests — and the two of us — were completely swept up in their music. We asked them to build the event gradually, starting off more relaxed and increasing the energy as the night went on, and that’s exactly what they did.

Everyone was singing and dancing along with them. We honestly couldn’t be happier that we chose them, and without a doubt, we’ll be booking them again for future events.

If they’re available, don’t hesitate — you won’t regret it. The quality-to-price ratio is unbeatable. Absolutely incredible!

From the very first contact, they made everything incredibly easy: always attentive, available and happy to help with anything we needed. They also have an amazing repertoire, which made it really easy to find songs that perfectly matched the style we were looking for.

And the result was simply spectacular. They created an incredible atmosphere during the drinks reception and received endless compliments from our guests. In fact, even the venue coordinator asked us for their contact details after the wedding!

If we had to choose again, we wouldn’t think twice.

Booking Merlo Negro — specifically Amorodous — to provide the music for our wedding was one of the best decisions I made.

Although I already knew Éric personally, his level of professional dedication went far beyond my expectations. From the very beginning, he was attentive to everything I needed, suggested different options, advised me on the choice of songs, and even learned my favourite song to surprise me on the day. It wasn’t part of their usual repertoire, but he learned it anyway — and then brought me up on stage to create such a beautiful memory.

Both Éric and Yeyo had our guests dancing and singing from the very beginning and made the party one of the absolute highlights of the day.

Booking them was a total success.
